Our History
Marie Laura Raphaël Alexis and Dr. Alice A Prophète were the driving force behind the creation of The Haitian Organization of Edmonton (OHE). Their initiative gained the robust backing of Jean Clode Macena, Ismaélie Thernelan, and Marguerite Fils-aimé. Founded in 2010, the organization has grown to be much more than a supportive platform; it stands as a testament to an unwavering commitment to Edmonton’s Haitian community and to meeting the evolving needs of new arrivals. From its inception, all founding members, particularly Marie Laura Raphael Alexis and Dr. Alice Prophète, have invested not just their time and energy, but also personal resources to keep the organization moving forward.
